The Renewable Energy Holding Company participates in the Rome preparatory seminar for the Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2025.

The Renewable Energy Holding Company, represented by Engineer Aseel Artema, Chairman of the Board of Directors, participated as part of a high-level official Libyan delegation in the roundtable hosted in the Italian capital, Rome, on Monday, September 23, 2024. The roundtable was organized by the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, in preparation for the third edition of the Libya Energy and Economy Summit, to be held in Tripoli in 2025.

The Libyan delegation included:

  • Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Authority.
  • Engineer Osama Al-Darrat, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Electricity and Renewable Energy Affairs.
  • Engineer Aseel Artema, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Renewable Energy Holding Company.

The roundtable witnessed broad participation from representatives of public and private companies from Libya and Italy, as well as international companies specializing in the fields of oil, gas, and renewable energy. Attendees discussed opportunities to enhance international cooperation and investment in these strategic sectors.

The discussions focused on several key topics, including:

  • A review of investment opportunities in renewable energy projects in Libya.
  • Mechanisms for implementing the National Strategy for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency.
  • Supporting the transition to sustainable energy as a pivotal element in driving economic growth.
  • Electrical interconnection with Europe and strengthening Libya's position as a regional energy hub.

Resolving challenges facing energy sector development and building effective partnerships with international partners, particularly Italy.

The Renewable Energy Holding Company also affirmed its commitment to working to attract international investments and build effective strategic partnerships to implement solar, wind, and green hydrogen energy projects, achieving national goals and enhancing Libya's position in the global energy landscape.

The Libya Energy and Economy Summit 2025 will provide an important platform bringing together global investors, financiers, and project developers with local stakeholders to discuss opportunities to develop energy infrastructure, expand renewable energy projects, and consolidate Libya's role as a major energy hub in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
